Dog and Puppy Wellness Exams

From initial puppy vaccinations to routine parasite screening, Country Creek Animal Hospital helps clients keep their dogs healthy and happy throughout their lifetime. With our routine wellness examinations tailored specifically for canines, our veterinarians are here to help dog owners keep their pets healthy throughout their lifetime.

Comprehensive Care at Every Age

Throughout your pet’s life, their health needs change. Through our specialized wellness treatments, our veterinarians provide puppies and adult dogs with age appropriate care to ensure continued wellness.

For puppies and their owners, routine wellness check-ups include developing a nutritional plan as well as providing all necessary vaccinations. As training can often be the biggest hurdle for new puppy owners, our Allen veterinarians work with owners to create a comprehensive obedience training routine as well as provide support to ensure proper boundaries are set for your new pet.

As your puppy matures into an adult dog, routine check-ups become more comprehensive. Often, this includes more preventive treatments, such as dental examinations, laboratory screenings, and continued heartworm, flea, and tick prevention.

Prior to your dog's wellness exam, note any severe changes that have occurred with your pet including: vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, weight gain/loss, excessive thirst, or increased aggression. If your pet is experiencing any of these symptoms or has developed any abnormal behavior since their last wellness exam, please inform our veterinarians and support staff.

During your pet's wellness exam we can perform:

  • Complete Dental Exam
  • Full-body Physical Exam
  • Heartworm and Blood Parasite Screenings
  • Intestinal Parasite/Fecal Screenings
  • Early Detection Screenings (blood and urine screenings to evaluate status of organ function)
  • Radiographs/Diagnostic Imaging

Emergency Care for Puppies and Dogs

Accidents can happen at any time. From accidental ingestion to fractured bones, Country Creek Animal Hospital is here to provide emergency assistance. As a full service medical, surgical, and dental veterinary practice, our team is able to provide comprehensive care all in one location, eliminating the need for extra visits to outside specialists. In addition to using advanced diagnostic tools, our practice features an in-house laboratory, allowing our veterinarians to identify the cause of your dog’s health problems and create comprehensive, conservative treatment plans.

In the event your canine requires surgery in order to regain optimal wellness, anesthesia is available to ensure comfortable care. Following treatment, medication for pain management and improving your pet’s wellbeing are available through our in-house pharmacy. During the follow-up appointments, our team will continue to monitor your dog’s health, ensuring that recovery is going smoothly.

During senior pet exams, our veterinarians take your pet’s vital statistics and perform a complete head-to-tail exam of internal organs and joints, accessing any abnormalities or pain your pet might be exhibiting.
